Afro-Brazil

Afro-Brazil is a vibrant collection of contemporary axé and samba-reggae that captures the soulful sounds of Salvador and the irresistible energy of a Bahian street party.

Salvador is a city where the African roots of Brazilian culture reveal themselves in the omnipresent rhythms of Candomblé ceremonies, capoeira circles to the thunderous percussion of Carnival street parades. The songs on Afro-Brazil reflect the influence of that living heritage on the broader Brazilian music scene by featuring artists from across the country who seek inspiration in the music and mythology of Bahia.
